Biography

Wildcookie is an acid jazz duo composed of Freddie Cruger (also known as Red Astaire) and Anthony Mills.[1] Freddie Cruger is a DJ and music producer who has been active in the music industry for decades, releasing music on his own label, Homegrown Records, and touring extensively as a DJ worldwide.[1] Anthony Mills is a versatile musician with an extensive career spanning over 12 years in professional music, during which he has toured with Harry Belafonte's All-Star Band and recorded with numerous acclaimed artists including Krs-One, Amy Winehouse, Leela James, Maxi Priest, Dead Prez, and Sly Dunbar.[1] The duo released their debut 12" on Homegrown Records, which became extremely rare, and subsequently released the "Drugs EP" that received support from BBC Radio 1 DJ Gilles Peterson.[1] Their debut album, 'Cookie Dough', was released on Tru Thoughts on February 21st, 2007, featuring the lead track "Heroine" from the EP.[1] The project represents a collaboration between two experienced musicians bringing together Cruger's production expertise and Mills' extensive vocal and songwriting experience to create their distinctive acid jazz sound.
