Biography
Charles Sheffield, also known as Mad Dog, was an early R&B singer from Lake Charles, Louisiana. He began his recording career in 1955 with Goldband Records in Lake Charles, followed by additional sessions there and in Jay, Louisiana. In the early 1960s, he gained recognition with his regional hit 'It's Your Voodoo Working' released on Excello Records, a track noted for its strong R&B style that later became acclaimed in Northern Soul circles.
