Biography
Morning 40 Federation is a rock band from the Ninth Ward of New Orleans that formed in 1998, establishing themselves as a distinctive voice in the city's vibrant music scene.[1] The band draws inspiration from diverse musical influences including King Oliver, Tom Waits, and Jon Spencer, blending these influences into their own energetic rock sound.[1] The group took a significant six-year hiatus beginning in 2008, but returned to perform a reunion show on October 31, 2009, at the Voodoo Experience music festival, marking the beginning of their active return to the New Orleans music community.[1] Since their reunion, Morning 40 Federation has maintained an active presence in New Orleans venues and festivals, continuing to perform and record new material while remaining rooted in their Ninth Ward neighborhood and the local music culture that shaped them.
