Biography
Larkin Poe is an American roots rock band led by sisters Rebecca Lovell and Megan Lovell, originating in north Georgia and based in Nashville. The duo began their musical journey in 2010, writing original songs influenced by American roots music and blues traditions. Since their debut studio album Kin in 2014, Larkin Poe has established themselves as a significant force in contemporary blues and Southern rock, earning critical acclaim and Grammy recognition. Their discography includes Peach (2017), Venom & Faith (2018, Grammy-nominated), Self Made Man (2020), Kindred Spirits (2020), and Blood Harmony (2022, Grammy Award winner for Best Contemporary Blues Album). The band gained early international recognition through their collaboration with producer T Bone Burnett on the New Basement Tapes' album and performances at major festivals including Glastonbury 2014, where they were voted "Best Discovery" by The Observer.
Tyler Bryant is a Texas-born blues-rock guitarist and songwriter who began his musical education at age 6 and quickly developed into a prodigious talent. He won the Robert Johnson Gibson New Generation Award at 15 and claimed victory in Ernie Ball's inaugural "Play Crossroads Competition" in 2007, earning a performance slot at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago. Bryant moved to Nashville at age 17 to pursue songwriting and formed Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown with drummer Caleb Crosby and bass player Calvin Webster, later expanding to include bassist Diego Navaira and guitarist Graham Whitford (son of Aerosmith's Brad Whitford). His solo discography includes Truth and Lies (2019), Pressure (2020), Shake The Roots (2022), Live From '79 (2023), and Electrified (2024).
The professional and personal connection between Larkin Poe and Tyler Bryant deepened when Rebecca Lovell and Bryant married on October 6, 2019. This union strengthened their musical collaboration, with Bryant co-producing Larkin Poe's critically acclaimed album Blood Harmony (2022). The album marked a departure from the sisters' previous self-contained production approach, with Rebecca noting, "In the past we've taken a very intentional tact of self-reliance, but this time it felt right to open up the process while still keeping it a family affair." Bryant has also served as engineer on other Larkin Poe projects, including their covers album Kindred Spirits (2020). Additionally, Bryant won Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Blues Album in 2022 for his work on Blood Harmony and again in 2023 for producing Ruthie Foster's album "Mileage."
