Biography

Andrew Halchak is an American jazz saxophonist born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, where he immersed himself in the vibrant southwestern music communities, exploring genres such as bluegrass, country/western, and swing. He began his musical journey in Tucson studying bassoon, saxophone, and later clarinet. Halchak earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from Berklee College of Music in 2010, and continued his education with a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from The New England Conservatory of Music in 2012, after which he relocated to New York City, performing and working at the iconic Village Vanguard jazz club.[1]

Halchak has established himself as a versatile performer in the jazz scene, appearing on albums like 'Mists: Charles Ives for Jazz Orchestra' (2014) as an alto saxophonist and participating in projects tributing Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond. He has performed at international jazz festivals and with renowned groups.
